Purpose: To Connect & REflect
Introducing Letteracy Deck
Letteracy Deck is a new and novel free public letter writing park on Lake Superior in downtown Grand Marais. It has two outdoor deck locations: on the harbor and the east bay, which is an extension of the Cook County History Museum. Indoor space in the Museum allowed our 2024 expansion of the Mini-museum Exhibit space on the famed Ojibwe mail carrier John Beargrease and the importance of letters to Grand Marais' culture and historic sense of multicultural community. |
Letteracy Deck is the only free public letter writing park in the world!
Everyone, all ages and abilities, can enjoy the pause in the day it provides to write, reflect, create. All for free--stationery supplies and stamps.
We thank our spectacular donors and sponsoring organizations!
We are grateful for the support of the Grand Marais Lions Club; 1st & 2nd Thrift Store; Minnesota Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board;
Cook County Historical Society; and the Cook County Whole Foods Co-op. Your generosity amazed hundreds of people each day--the free stamps, especially! Thank you! |
